The Rockdale Municipal Development District (RMDD) will host a Rockdale Mid-Century Plan Community Open House at Patterson Civic Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29.
A process is already under way to update Rockdale’s comprehensive plan which will take our city into the year 2050. The purpose of the open house is to get residents’ input on the future of Rockdale and how to plan for growth and provide a blueprint to achieve a vision that supports Rockdale’s growth and community needs.
The plan has already been initiated and is now in the analysis and visioning stage which involves collecting data, analyzing existing conditions across the community and setting a unified vision, goals and guiding principles for Rockdale.
The comprehensive plan is a reflection of the community’s vision, a statement that guides policy, a basis for future ordinances, a decision- making tool and a living document that should be updated regularly.
RMDD Economic Director Jim Gibson said, “Your attendance and input is encouraged to help us build a resilient future for Rockdale.”
