In November both Rockdale and Milam County continue to outpace last year’s sale tax rebate numbers despite the otherwise depressing effects of COVID-19 on the economy.
Rockdale tallied $67,559 in sales tax returns from the state comptroller’s office, while Milam County received $89,973.
The Rockdale Municipal Development District was down a bit from the September total of $40,001 with an October total of $34,447.
The county’s seat of Cameron is also running behind last month’s tax rebate total.
The comptroller reported Cameron’s October tax rebate total at $71,787 while the September total was $100,087.
The Thorndale total was also down in October from the September numbers, according to the monthly report.
The October number for Thorndale was $16,046. while the September number was $18,843.
Milano got a boost in October from the September number with a rebate total of $10,630 to top the previous month total of $9,342.
