For the second time in 18 months a Rockdale woman has been charged with injuring one of her children.
Lt. Stephen Goodrich said Michelle Marie Reese, 22, turned herself in Thursday on a warrant alleging injury to a child.
She was released after posting $8,000 bond.
Lt. Goodrich said the arrest involved a four-year-old boy “who was not seriously injured.”
In May, 2017, Reese was one of two persons arrested in connection with an incident in which a different child of Reese’s—at that time age four—was found in a dark room with welts police believe to have been caused by a “salt gun.”
That’s a compressed air device used to kill flies, according to police.
Last month Reese was re-arrested on charges stemming from that incident. She was charged on a motion to proceed on the original charge from 2017.
COUNTERFEIT—Yet more counterfeit money was discovered in Rockdale during the week as Goodrich said a pair of fake $20-dollar bills were reported at a local business.
Caress Nicole Montelongo, 25, of Rockdale was charged with forgery by passing.
She was released after posting $8,000 bond.
“I don’t necessarily think Rockdale has been targeted with all these incidents in recent weeks,” Goodrich said. “It’s just that there has been an awful lot of counterfeit activity all over Central Texas.”
INCIDENTS—Police said an arrest was made in connection with an argument which involved a gun being displayed.
Goodrich said no injuries were reported.
A 13-year-old male, reported as a runaway, was located during the week, police said.
Police said two air conditioning units were reported taken during a break-in.
ACCIDENT—Police responded to the Betrol business at 2002 West Cameron (US 79) at 10:55 p.m. Saturday for a report of a pickup hitting a building.
Driver was listed as Ronnie Alexander of Rockdale.
CITATIONS—Police issued 27 citations during the week, including 13 for speeding, four for expired registration and two each for failure to stop for school bus and no proof of rabies vaccination.
