The members of the Municipal Development District board voted to make some changes to the Rockdale Municipal Development District’s Facade and Infrastructure Improvement Incentive Program at its meeting Monday in the Rockdale City Hall.

It set the scoring rate on how grants would be given to applicants.

If a project is reviewed and scores 80 or above the grant will be 50 percent of the cost of the project with the maximum amount leveling off at $20,000.

A project with a rating between 70 and 79 will be able to get a 40 percent grant, while a score of 60 to 69 will net a 30 percent grant.

Projects that come in with a score of 59 or less will not receive any funds.

President Michelle Larkin said, “We need to market this program to the public.”

The board also voted to enter an interlocal agreement with the city of Rockdale for computer protection.

Larkin also told members that to keep Nov. 19 in mind. That is the day the Rockdale Downtown Association will hold its “Sip and Shop” from 4 to 7 p.m. and then at 7:30 p.m. there will be the lighting of the new Christmas tree.
