Mary Lou Loehr has joined the sales staff of The Rockdale Reporter and is ready to help area businesses and individuals with their advertising needs.

“I love to talk, and now I get paid for it,” she said.

Loehr grew up in Rockdale, the daughter of the late Robert and Flo Loehr, so she knows her way around the area.

She has spent her career working in sales in Cameron and Bastrop. She has worked in restaurant management in LaGrange.

She also worked at Walmart in LaGrange where she worked in several departments in management positions.

She comes to The Reporter staff with high recommendations such as one from a former employer who said she is an effective communicator with an eye for detail and that she works effectively with others.

In her youth she was active in rodeoing and other sports.

Nowadays she enjoys reading, writing and her other job at the Rockdale County Club. She also runs an animal rescue in Rockdale called Ringling Road Ranch and Rescue.

“I ran the ad for an advertising salesperson for three weeks. As soon as Mary Lou expressed interest I knew she was the one,” said Kyle Cooke, The Reporter’s general manager. “As a matter of fact as soon as she sat down for her interview I told her the interview was over. You’re hired. And she’s already doing a great job.”
