The Rockdale Rotary Club held its annual Casino Night on Saturday at The Ranch and had their best year ever according to Vice President and Treasurer Gaye Bland. “We should profit $33,000 this year after $13,000 in sponsorships, $8,900 in ticket sales and the auction brought in $19,680,”
This event funds scholarships, RYLA campers, school programs and other service projects in the community including for senior citizens, coats, fans, heaters, Earth Day, the United Way and park improvement projects.
Saturday’s big winners were Steve Spencer who won third place for $500, Dude Matous won second place for $1,000 and Terri Noack took home the first prize of $1,500.
“Almost 95 percent of our sponsors are local businesses. Please support your local businesses. They help the community so much. Not just Rotary, but so, so many functions. And a special thank you to Russell and Romney Fischer for having the best place to hold this event. Your crew went above and beyond to make it successful,” Bland said.
