On Oct. 24 and 25 Dennis Hail was one of 48 veterans from Central Texas who got to board Honor Flight 67 for Washington, DC.

After waiting for almost two years due to the pandemic, these veterans got to experience the “trip of a lifetime.” Hail is a Vietnam veteran and lives outside of Rockdale with his wife Deborah.

This was all made possible through the organization Honor Flight Austin and a generous donation from Venturi Wealth Management in Austin.

The mission of the Honor Flight Network is to transport America’s veterans to Washington, DC, to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices they made. The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices.

Participation in an Honor Flight trip gives veterans the chance to share this momentous trip with other veterans, to remember friends and comrades who were lost, and to share their stories and experiences with each other.

The Honor Flight Network is currently working with veterans who served from World War II to the Korean War and Vietnam. The goal of Honor Flight
