The new Tiger Field looks like a football field now. Here’s how it got that way. What exactly are they doing here? It’s the way artificial turf is installed. The black surface is the underside of the turf itself and these six workers are stitching together a seam on the underside. When the stitch is complete the turf is stretched smooth, then flipped over and the green side re-appears on top. Then, repeat and repeat. The end zone-to-end zone project started last Wednesday and was in place by the weekend. The turf comes complete with lines. Numbers will be added later. End zones are blue.
