Several shops in town—Hodge Podge Etc., Christian Infor-mation Book Store, Rustic Charm, Shear Gypsy, Charming Blossoms and Treat Yourself Boutique—held a unique “Hens and Rooster” event before Christmas. The “hens” shopped and made their wish lists at each store Dec. 15-17 using each participating store’s merchandise. After the shopping the “roosters” were entered into a drawing for a Yeti-type cooler filled with all kinds of “rooster” goodies including their favorite beverage. On Dec, 22, the roosters picked up their wrapped gifts for their hens, returned to their “coops” and placed their gifts under their Christmas trees. The rooster drawing was held on Dec. 22 and Vincent Garza claimed the prize. Garza is seen here with his daughter, Chanley, and Hodge Podge Etc. co-owner Shannon Kornegay.
