CAMERON—The annual Milam County Row Crops tour is set for June 21 beginning at the Texas AgriLife Extension Office in Cameron.

It will feature a grain sorghum demonstration plot at the Jay Beckhusen place near Buckholts and a corn demonstration plot at the Buddy Johnson place near San Gabriel.

Registration opens at 7 a.m. at the extension office, 100 E. First in Cameron.

The crops tour offers three continuing education units, two in Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

Participants must call the extension office at 254-697-7045 to RSVP.

• 7 to 7:30 a.m.—Registration, Extension Office.

• 8 to 9 a.m.—Grain sorghum demonstration variety trial, Dr. Ronnie Schell, extension grain sorghum and corn specialist, and Dr. David Kerns, professor and statewide IPM coordinator.

• 9 to 9:30 a.m.—Cotton IPM discussion and update, Dr. Kerns.

Move to corn plot

• 9:50 to 10:30 a.m.—Corn demonstration variety trial, Dr. Schell.

Move to Thorndale VFW

• 10:45 to 11:15 a.m.— Farm Service Agency/Farm Bill update, Kevin Humphrey, Milam County FSA director.

• 11:20 a.m. to 12-noon—2019-20 commodity market outlook and update, Dr. John R.C. Robinson, Texas A&M extension economist.

• 12:30 to 1 p.m.—Plant pathology-diseases and management options, Dr. Tom Isakeit, Texas A&M University, extension specialist in fi eld crops.

• 1 to 2 p.m.—Eminent domain and land owner rights, Gene Hall, senior management staff, director of communications, Texas Farm Bureau.

• 2 p.m.—Evaluations, CEU certificates, door prizes.
