On Sept. 22 at approximately 7:15 p.m. Rockdale Police Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a white pickup operated by Kyle Jay Jones, who had active felony warrants through Travis County.
Jones evaded arrest and led area law enforcement on a 35-minute vehicle pursuit through Rockdale neighborhoods, county roads and FM roads, using his vehicle to assault pursuing officers multiple times throughout the pursuit. The vehicle pursuit came to an end in the 500 block of Oaklawn Drive in the Praesel Subdivision when Jones abandoned his vehicle and fled the area on foot.
Jones currently has active felony warrants for possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, criminal mischief and aggravated assault on a public servant.
