Sales tax numbers for August

Rockdale’s sales tax distribution for August was down a bit from last year’s August number, but the year-to-date total is still outpacing last year.

The Municipal Development District’s numbers are higher both for the month and the year, according to figures released by the state’s comptroller.

Sales tax rebates sent to cities in October reflect taxes collected in August— for those businesses that report monthly—and reported to the comptroller’s office.

Milam County totals are up over last year, too. Cameron, however, is trailing last rebate totals.
