Santa’s coming to Rockdale on Saturday. Three times.

The “man in red” will appear in the morning for “breakfast withe the kids” in the Patterson Center, in the afternoon to hear Christmas wishes of children at the depot-museum and in the evening at the night-time, lighted Christmas parade.

There’s also music and a full slate of activities at the depot-museum.

BREAK FAST—It all starts with Breakfast With Santa from 7:30 to 10 a.m. in the Patterson Civic Center, an event co-sponsored by the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce and McDonald’s.

Tickets are $5 each and includes a breakfast of pancakes, milk and juice. All children are invited to attend with parents and or grandparents.

Also on tap will be arts and crafts. Tickets may be purchased at the Chamber ocn ouse ffice/ and Rockdale Signs & Photography.

AFTERNOON—The focus changes to the I&GN Historical Depot-Wolf Park area for the rest of the day.

The depot will be open from 12-noon to 5 p.m., selling sausage wraps and drinks, and Santa will be at the depot to hear children’s Christmas wishes from 3 to 5 p.m. and then will ride in the parade.

There will be children’s activities around the depot complex from 1 to 5 p.m. in the restored caboose.

Sausage wraps will be on sale at the depot.

There will be vendor and food booths along North Main by the park.

Rockdale’s Communities in Concert Band will play at the Wolf Park pavilion from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

PARADE —The lighted night parade will again form in the Fair Park area and proceed north of Wilcox to Cameron Avenue (US 79), head east down the highway and end at Green Street.

It will begin at 6 p.m.

Denise Brock, Chamber office staffer said a number of churches and non-profit organizations have already entered the event.

Santa will make his third visit of the day as the parade’s final Úoat

After the parade, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. there will be voting for the People’s Choice Float Award, also at Wolf Park.

Winner will receive a $250 cash award, sponsored by parade sponsor Miller-Starnes Chevrolet-Buick. Parade awards will be presented from 8 to 8:30 p.m. at the park

Voting will be on line, via Facebook, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Light of the World Choir will carol in the park from 6:30 to 7:30.

Awards will be presented at 8 p.m., also a Wolf Park.
