For the past few weeks Rockdale has had a new dentist in town helping clean up cavities and adding a gleam to area smiles.
Patrick Sarager, DDS, has taken over the Rockdale practice of dentist Larry Jones who has retired after 42 years in business.
“I know you will be pleased with Dr. Sarager and ask that you extend him the same courtesy and loyalty you have afforded me,” Jones wrote in a farewell letter to his patients.
“Dr. Jones had a great office and my goal is to continue with that,” Sarager said. “I am keeping the same staff which includes hygienists, dental assistants and the front office ladies.”
Sarager grew up in Mesa, Arizona and went to college at Arizona State in nearby Tempe.
He went to dental school at Indiana University.
Before taking over the Rockdale practice, Sarager was involved in a group practice in Tempe and, for the past two years, he worked in the Killeen area.
Sarager and his wife Meghan and their two children, Claire, 6, and Remington, 3, are happy to have found Rockdale, he said.
“I love it here. People here are great. They are very friendly and I feel welcome here,” Sarager said. “And new patients are alway welcome.”
The practice is called Liberty Family Dental and offers all aspects of dental work from cleaning teeth and filling cavities to dentures and implants, and everything in between, he said.
It is a family practice, he noted of his office on Meadow Drive.
“I enjoy being able to treat children and helping them keep a healthy mouth,” he said.
“We are taking a lot of precautions to protect our patients and staff from COVID-19,” he said. “We follow CDC (Center for Disease Control) guidelines and those of the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.”
Sarager, thanks to his two-year mission work in California right after high school, speaks Spanish in addition to English.
In his free time, Sarager likes playing basketball and being outdoors hunting, shooting and fishing.
“I also enjoy spending time with my family,” he said.
