Assistant Superintendent of State and Federal Programs Tiffany Whitsel presented a review of the ESSER III Safe Return to School Plan Update at Monday night’s school board meeting.
Coaches Sean Lexima and Danielle Froggatt presented the athletic review to the board. They reviewed the current participation numbers for football, volleyball and cross country.
Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Kathy Pelzel presented the 2022-2023 Improvement Plan Evaluations and the 2023-2024 Performance Objectives.
Campus principals presented a comparison of enrollment of last year’s enrollment to current enrollment for their campus. All campuses showed growth in enrollment. Principals also reported on STAAR/ EOC scores from last year and discussed their campus improvement goals with the board.
The board approved the Rockdale ISD 2023-24 Teacher Appraisal Calendar, the 2023-24 Brazos Valley Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (BVRDSPD), Shared Services Agreement and extension of the HVAC Parts and Labor bid with Climate Control A/C & Heating.
Adult prices for meals purchased through the Rockdale ISD Food Service Department was approved at $3.25 for breakfast and $4.75 for lunch effective for the 2023-2024 school year.
The board appointed members to serve on the following committees: School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), District Educational Council (DEC), District Safety Committee and District Calendar Committee.
The annual Investment Report for 2022-2023 was approved as presented and the Resolution of the Board was read aloud.
The hospital property was renamed the Rockdale ISD College & Career Academy. The board was informed on personnel teaching under the Elevate Program as well as certified and non-certified personnel hires.
