According to an announcement by Executive Director Britina Pesak, Rockdale ISD has the following openings on the Campus Education Councils: Elementary (1) Community Representative, Intermediate (2) Parent Representatives, (1) Business Representative; Junior High (1) Parent Representative, (2) Business Representatives; High School (1) Parent Representative, (1) Community Representative, (1) Business Representative.
Parent representatives must have students enrolled on the campus for which they apply. Community representatives must reside in Rockdale ISD, be at least 18 years old, and cannot be the parent of a student currently enrolled in the district. Business representatives must own or operate a business, but the business does not have to be located in Rockdale ISD. Parent, community and business representatives cannot be employees of Rockdale ISD.
Applications are available online at www.rockdaleisd.net or can be picked up from the Administration Building at 520 W. Davilla Street. The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, Oct. 5.
Campus and District Educational Councils serve as advisory groups to the principals and superintendent, but have no regulatory powers.
“This is a great opportunity for our parents and community members to provide input to our district. Our Councils play a vital role in our school improvement process. We look forward to working with all those who apply,” Mrs. Pesak said.
