When the price of the HOP Bus went from $4 to $8 recently, it was cost prohibitive for some seniors to come to the Senior Center, according to center director Carolyn Cooper.
Cooper is asking for help from the public for donations for both food and transportation. The center’s nutritional program has been funded through September of this year, but they are unsure about funding after that time.
In order to raise money, the senior center is selling tickets for a drawing for a television and a gift basket which will be held on May 9.
Tickets are available at the center where the public can see the prizes.
“We would like to thank everyone for their donations,” Cooper said.
