City officials are searching for a way around a recent announcement that Hill Country Transit District is now charging senior citizens to ride its HOP bus.
The bus had provided free (donations accepted but not required) rides for persons 60 and above.
Beginning Thursday (Nov.
1) all riders are required to pay a fee.
“Unfortunately, funding for transportation services is no longer available,” a letter from the transit district stated.
