Rockdale’s sales tax distribution for September, as well as the surrounding towns and the county, as a whole were up for the month.

Rockdale figures were up by almost 12% from where they were in September of 2019. The county was up almost 13% from this time last year, according to figures released by the Texas comptroller’s office.

The Municipal Development District’s numbers are higher both for the month and the year. They are up almost 14% over the September 2019 total and for the year they are up almost 12%.

Sales tax rebates sent to cities in November reflect taxes collected in September—for those businesses that report monthly—and reported to the comptroller’s office.

Thorndale is having a banner year this year as its annual total thus far is almost 32% better than it was at this time last year. The September numbers for 2020 are 15% better than they were last September.

Cameron numbers for the month are better than they were for the month in 2019 at 6.71%, but overall still lag a bit down .41% for the year.
