It was business as usual Wednesday morning at Rockdale High School after the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department answered a Tuesday evening call to a small fire .

Fire Chief Ward Roddam said at 7:51 p.m. RVFD was dispatched to a fire alarm at the school.

He said firefighters immediately went into investigation mode and found a fire burning inside a room in the technology department.

“After making entry, firefighters quickly extinguished the fire,” he said.

Roddam said the building was cleared of smoke and RVFD returned to service at 9:45 p.m.

Supt. Dr. Denise Monzingo said the fire was contained to the technology department and administrators and staff were assessing the damage Wednesday morning.
