SPECTACULAR

—This two-vehicle collision, which resulted in this pickup being flipped onto its side, drew a large crowd of onlookers at 4:34 p.m. Thursday at the Main-Cameron (FM 908-US 79) intersection downtown. Police said injuries to the driver, 64-year-old Daniel Griffin of Lampasas, did not appear serious. He was removed by Rockdale VFD firefighters. Police said the westbound pickup was turning left onto Main when it was in collision with an eastbound car driven by Keith Hayes of Austin. Griffin was flown to Baylor Scott & White Hospital, Temple. Vehicle damages were termed “major.”
