Tuesday was a big day as the long-awaited Sumuel Park Splash Pad was turned on. Community leader, and fund raiser, Elissa Benford activated the water features as City Manager Chris Whittaker got a little wet to the enjoyment of L. C. Richards, Parks Board Chair. The splash pad will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Oct. 31, then close until may 1 when there will be a formal opening. Whittaker expressed appreciation to Mine Services for donating earth work.
