A traffic stop in which the driver of a white Pontiac took off after an officer had stopped the car ended in a wreck at the intersection of Murray and Miller on Thursday.
Police stopped the car on Wilcox when the driver took off and turned on Hillyer, then down Williams before crashing.
The driver, Anita Alexandria Moreno, 28, of Rockdale, was arrested minutes after the crash on charges of evading arrest/detention with a vehicle along with three local warrants and a charge of no driver’s license. She was released from the county jail on $8,000 bond.
Police made one other felony arrest this one on Wednesday when Aleah Dawn Freitag, 28, Houston, was taken into custody for unauthorized use of vehicle, possession of controlled substance (less than 1 gram). She was released on $10,000 bond.
In addition to the wreck at Murray and Miller, there were three other traffic accidents reported last week.
One was a hit and run accident near the signal light by a hotel on US 77 near the US 79 exit that happened Thursday.
On Sunday a vehicle ran into a light pole near Jackson and Murray at 6:31 a.m.
A few hours later officers went to Mill and Wilcox for a reported minor accident involving two vehicles.
Police issued 14 tickets and answered 258 calls for service with 97 of those calls being 911 calls.

• Friday, 1:31 p.m., Thorndale volunteers along with the Sheriff’s Office responded to FM 908 and FM 486 for a truck breakdown.
• Friday, 5:54 p.m., Thorndale volunteers responded to the intersection of Main and US 79 for a reported truck at the signal light on fire.
• Saturday, 7:18 p.m., Rockdale volunteers along with the Sheriff’s Office and AMR responded to the responded the US 77 and Northwood Circle for an accident.
• Saturday, 10:10 p.m., Thorndale police and volunteer responded to a call for a vehicle in a ditch.
• Sunday, 2:39 p.m., Milano volunteers responded to a grass fire at CR 344 an CR 322.
