Appraisal District ready to start property visits

The Milam Appraisal District is beginning onsite property inspections for the 2020 appraisal year. Appraisers will soon be in the field performing property inspections.

Property owners can assist the appraisal district by providing access to their property when needed.

Appraisers will always be in vehicles that are clearly marked with magnetic signs and yellow flashing lights, and also have business cards and a state issued TDRL license that property owners can request to be shown upon arrival.

The appraisers will never request that you allow them access inside any building. If measurements are needed they will be taken from the outside.

“We make every effort to make ourselves visible. If anyone has concerns about a person that identifies themselves as an appraisal district employee, please contact our office. Law enforcement is also aware of the specific appraisers in the area and they vehicles they drive,” according to Dyann White, Chief Appraiser.
