Mandatory training for all new RISD substitute teachers will be held Thursday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 12-noon at the Rockdale ISD Conference Center at 1205 Murray Ave.
This training will include processes for the automated substitute service system Rockdale ISD has implemented.
Individuals interested in becoming substitute teachers must attend this training in order to qualify for the substitute list. Individuals already on the sub list may also attend. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and provide consent to a criminal background check. Substitute applications can be picked up at the RISD Central Office at 520 W. Davilla prior to the training.

Rockdale’s annual Citywide Garage Sale is next Friday and Saturday, Sept. 1 and 2.
Deadline for including your sale on the map is Monday, Aug. 28, at 4 p.m. The garage sale map will be posted in next week’s Reporter as well as online.
