SUPERIOR STUDENTS—Rockdale Junior High Symphonic Band performed at the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation last week in Bastrop. ‘Our students spent the past two months working on three pieces and sight-reading skills. There were two parts to this evaluation. The first part is when we perform the three pieces we have prepared on stage. The second part is the band and I have to learn a new piece of music in seven minutes that we have not seen before,’ said Roberto Palomino, assistant director of bands. The judges in both parts of the evaluation gave the junior high students a Superior ranting. ‘I am very proud of the students for representing Rockdale so well,’ Palomino added
