Both locations of the Milam County Tax Office will remain closed to public until further notice, according to Sherry Mueck, tax collector.

A skeleton crew will be on hand Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to answer phones and process mail.

“For vehicle registrations and title transfers, at this time the 60-day waiver issued by Governor Abbott is still in effect,” she said.

Effective April 28, anyone needing to transfer a title must call the office on Tuesdays or Thursdays at times listed to set up an appointment. They will be set up for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

“All title transactions will be processed through a side window, no one is allowed in the lobby,” Mueck said. Instructions will be given when appointment is set.

“We will continue to process all car dealerships as we have been Tuesday and Thursdays only,” she said.
