TEAMWORK

TEAMWORK—Volunteers from the VFW Post 6525, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, the Rockdale Police Department and AWARE Central Texas worked together to provide needed school supplies to 455 students on Saturday. According to coordinator Rita Johnson, “This represents 87 more students than we helped last year and double what we did in 2019.” Due to the pandemic the organizations were not able to hold this event in 2020. If there are parents who could not make it to this event at the VFW, there is another opportunity on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Murray Street Church of Christ, 1301 Murray Ave. See story in left column.
