Internat iona l ly ac claimed gospel singing group, The Texans, will be in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at San Gabriel Christian Church, located at 184 CR 421, just off FM 486 five miles north of Thorndale, in San Gabriel.
The Texans have traveled since 1971 and for many years were based in theaters in Branson, Missouri, and at the sight of the Passion Play.
The Texans have received many awards throughout the years: “Texas Group of the Year” from 1975 through 1982, OMA’s “Group of the Year” 1985-88 and “Entertainers of the Year” 198788 and recently STGMA’s Quartet of the Year in 2017.
The Texans raise funds in their travels to support mission works around the world including building church buildings and schools through their “Gifts of Love” program.
Joining the Texans will be internationally renowned, singer, actor and entertainer, Duke Mason.
Duke is a special perfor mer because of his 46-inch height and deep base voice.
Duke is a talented, respected entertainer who has appeared with many of the legends of both gospel and country music including the Jordanairres, George Jones, The Gatlin Brothers, The Blackwood Brothers, Bill Gaither and the Imperials. He was featured entertainer for years at the Precious Moments Chapel.
