Plum Street, Rockdale’s second busiest (after Main Street) railroad crossing, was closed Thursday as part of a general track maintenance project by Union Pacific Railroad. The project continued this week but the crossing is open. There’s lots of activity going in a couple of blocks downtown. Nearby the crossing work continues on a new police station and Citizens National Bank is getting a new roof, complete with constructions cranes.
