THORNDALE—The 28th annual Thorndale Barbecue Cookoff will unreel Friday and Saturday. The annual Thorn-dale Revue beauty pageant is 7 p.m. Thursday at the Thorndale High School cafeteria
There will be dances in the Thorndale City Park Pavilion both nights.
Texas Unlimited opens for Kevin Fowler Friday, 8 p.m. to 12-midnight, with a fireworks show at 9:30.
Saturday, Snake River Red opens for Josh Ward, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Saturday is the big day. Opening ceremonies, with the new Miss Thorndale and her court, are set for 11:30 a.m. in the pavilion.
The Fireman’s Auxiliary Turkey and Dressing Dinner is inside Fireman’s Hall at 11 a.m. That’s also the site for a 42 tourney, registration from 10 to 11 a.m. and competition at 11 a.m.
Arts and crafts and food booths will be open all day.
Washer pitching registration is 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with competition beginning at noon.
Horseshoe pitching registration is 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with competition starting at 1 p.m.
Barbecue cookoff winners will be announced at 5 p.m.
The annual softball tourney runs Friday through Sunday at the adjacent softball fields.
