Thorndale FCCLA members attended the National FCCLA Conference in San Diego, CA earlier this month. Members in attendance were Emilee Baker, Madison Brian, Hailey Meadors, Morgan Meadors and Jessica Yount. “These young ladies experienced tremendous accomplishments for their chapter and represented Thorndale and the central Texas community well,” said Larissa Ensor, Thorndale FCCLA Advisor.

Madison Brian, an incoming senior at Thorndale High School, was elected and will serve this upcoming school year as a National FCCLA Officer. Madison is only one of 10 students who were selected for this prestigious role as a national officer. She holds the position of Vice President of Public Relations and will represent Texas at the national level. Madison will be the first student in THS history to be a FCCLA National Officer.

Hailey Meadors and Jessica Yount, both incoming juniors at THS, placed 2nd in the nation for their competitive STAR Event: Interior Design. These young ladies qualified for Nationals after a 1st place standing at the State FCCLA Conference in April. Hailey and Jessica’s hard work paid off at Nationals by earning 2nd place out of teams from all across the United States.

Emilee Baker, recent THS grad, and Morgan Meadors, an incoming THS senior, competed at the national level in the Spotlight on Projects category. These ladies designed an informative display over Shattered Dreams and showcased it during the Expo.
