One person has been charged and at least two more arrests are anticipated after the Milam County Sheriff’s Department broke up what they termed a “major theft ring” in Thorn-dale.

Sheriff Chris White said 34-year-old Jennifer Blythe of Elgin was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and unlawfully carrying a weapon after the sheriff’s department, DPS state trooper and a game warden served a warrant and searched a Cowan Street address Sunday night.

White said Blythe was residing at the address.

Items recovered included four trailers, a travel trailer, a Bobcat skid steer, attachments, welders, a zero-turn mower and two four-wheelers were found.

“All were reported stolen from across the area,” he said. “We anticipate at least two more arrests and that more charges will be filed against Blythe.”

White said an anonymous tip about a truck taken in a South Milam County theft was received from the Thorndale Cefco about 6 p.m. Sunday and Thorndale officers detained a suspect.

White said another travel trailer is still missing and officers searched for guns and tools which remain missing from burglaries and thefts south of Rockdale.

The sheriff said he appreciated the efforts of deputies, the DPS and game warden for “working the scene for over six hours locating and recovering property Sunday night.”
