One of many sesquicentennial events is the dinner and dance party which will be held July 13 at the KC Hall from 6 to 11 p.m. The live musical act is Kenny Orts.
Attendees may come dressed in their favorite era attire from 1874 to 2024 or can come as they are. This is not a fancy dress event.
The menu will feature a charcuterie and fruit appetizer, carved roasted pork loin, jalapeno creamed corn, fresh spring salad, rolls and tea. There will be a variety of cakes for dessert.
Tickets are $75 and there will be a cash bar. Tickets can be purchased online at rockdale150.com.
This event, like many others, is sponsored by the City of Rockdale as well as RIOT, Classic Bank, Walmart, Rockdale Rotary Club, Cardinal Roofing, the Rockdale Downtown Association, Brookshire Brothers, Rockdale Building Material Center, Steve and Lynn Young.
