It’s almost time for Rockdalians to gather for the 87th City of Rockdale annual Homecoming.
Plan now to be there and enjoy the barbecue meal by letting the homecoming committee know that you would like to order a meal ticket for the event June 13 in the Patterson Civic Center.
The meal tickets are $15 and can be ordered at rockdalehomecoming@yahoo. com. The committee asks that everyone RSVP, get their orders in, before May 15.
The meal will be catered by Brett’s Backyard Bar-B-Que.
The day will begin at 9 a.m. with coffee and donuts, registration and visitation. That will be the time to pay for the barbecue meal that you have already made arrangements for, too.
There will also be homecoming histories to look at before having the meal. People will be seated at tables, then called by table to go through the food line.
After the meal there will be a presentation to honor the graduates of 1970 (COVID-19 delayed their honor until this year) and the Class of 1971.
Next up, the Jones family of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home will be honored for their devoted service to Rockdale, organizers said.
