THORNDALE—Adam Ivy has announced his resignation as superintendent of schools in T ho r nd a l e af ter seven years, and the school board will begin a search for his replacement.
The board and Ivy entered into an agreement that the move is in their respective best interests, according to David Hall, board president.
“On behalf of the district, the trustees express appreciation to Mr. Ivy for his work serving the district, its students, parents and administrators, and for the many accomplishments during his tenure,” Hall said.
“Adam came to Thorndale when our district was in need of a leader to steady the ship and guide us in the right direction,” Hall added. “He and his wife Lori—a wonderful teacher—along with their sons Evan and Jake, have been a blessing to our district and community.”
Ivy thanked present and past trustees for the opportunity to serve the TISD.
“A school system is measured by the commitment of the board, staff and community to its children, and this district is indeed committed,” Ivy said.
Both Ivy and Hall commended facult y, staf f, administrators, students and parents and for their work in the district’s achievements. “We wish Mr. Ivy the best in his future endeavors,” Hall said.
