The May 6 storm brought fierce rain into the county, flooding county roads, and it dropped a tornado on the east side of the US 77 Long Bridge near Cameron.
The National Weather Service surveyed the damage the next morning. They estimate that the tornado was a highend EF0, with winds up to 85mph, which damaged trees and caused minor damage to some nonresidential structures.
“Reminder to everyone that, because the burn ban is off, people in the county can burn tree debris. If individuals want to report damages or have any questions, they can contact Milam County Emergency Management at 254627-7060,” said Kenzie V. Oliver with Milam County EMC.
