The Thorndale Town & Country Club met at the country home of Monica Leatherwood, daughter of club member Patsy Palm who was the hostess for the meeting. The club met on Nov. 2 and began the meeting with the club prayer recited in unison. Following the prayer, the club played Thanksgiving Bingo with prizes of beautiful carved wooden Christmas ornaments for the winners.

A short business meeting followed the recreation where the club sent cards to community members in need of support. The club members set the date for their club garage sale for April 6, 2024. All club members will bring items and the sale will be held in the garage and yard of club member Patsy Davidson in Thorndale. The proceeds of the garage sale will be used to benefit the club treasury. The club also collected non-perishable food items for the Thorndale Cares event and donated them to this community project.

Several upcoming events were discussed, and support was requested for the Chamber of Commerce Trunk or Treat event on Oct. 28, the Chamber Car Show on Nov. 4, and the Christmas Parade on Dec. 2. The Down-Home Ranch Market Day on Nov. 11 was noted, and members were encouraged to support this event. The club also made plans for their annual Club Christmas Dinner on Thursday, Dec. 7, which finalizes the year of 2023 for the club. Officers for 2024 were elected: President, Paula Johnson; Vice-President, Rosemary Lawrence; Secretary, Darleen Tucker; Treasurer, Peggy Weise; and Corresponding Member, Jean Hejl.

Two new members were welcomed to the club: Pat Walters and Pat Simank.
