A chase by DPS state troopers involving a motorcycle, which began near Ben Arnold and wound its way to Rockdale, ended in a residential neighborhood Thursday.

Curtis Colton Chavis, 30 of Milano was charged with evading arrest/detention with vehicle, driving with license invalid with previous conviction/suspension without financial resolution; reckless driving and displaying fictitious license plate.

He was released on $13,000 bond and fined $269.

Lt. Stephen Goodrich said the cycle crashed near the corner of Green and Belton.

“It hit one of the wet spots left over from the rains,” Lt. Goodrich said.

The operator was checked over and then arrested.

“In a situation like that, what we will do is try to keep the roads clear, and look out for our citizens so that the pursuing law enforcement agencies can do their jobs in apprehending the subject,” he said.

ACCIDENTS—Police said minor damages were reported in a two-vehicle accident at Rice and Bell at 6:21 p.m. Thursday.

Drivers were listed by police as Trey Schneider of Thorndale and Judith Slush-er of Rockdale.

Police were called to the West Cameron Avenue (US 79) in front of Carquest at 11:46 p.m. Saturday for a report of a vehicle striking a deer.

Driver was listed as Jonathan Montemayor of Rock-dale. Moderate damages were reported,

FORGERY—Police cleared a case from last week with the arrest of 24-year-old Ke’Ira Moore of Rockdale on two counts of forgery by passing.

At presstime Tuesday the arrest had not been adjudicated.

SERVICE CALLS— During the past week, police responded to 162 calls for service and there were 92 calls received through the 911 emergency service, according to Rock-dale police.
