Gause ISD students begin classes for the year Thursday.
I was at the school Monday morning and teachers and staff were very busy. They are looking forward to a great year.
BIRTHDAY VISIT—
Visiting Sunday with Leah, Josh and Addy was his mom, Melodee Tomkivits of Stone-ham. She came to help Josh celebrate his 44th birthday.
CEMETERY ASSOCIATION—A reminder that Gause Cemetery Association is in need of a grounds keeper. For more information, contact Holly Jentsch at 979-255-2347 or Mary Jo Hux at 254-697-1739.
FOUNDERS DAY—If you haven’t marked your calendar for the annual Gause Community Improvement Program’s annual Founders Day, please do make plans to attend and participate. These activities will take place Saturday, Sept. 14.
Proceeds from Founders Day go towards two college scholarships for Gause graduates from area high schools and the upkeep of the community center and grounds.
The CIP is asking for donations, participants and volunteers to help with the various activities. Bake your favorite cake, pie or cookies and donate it to this activity. You may rent a booth for $10 and sell your “stuff.”
APPRECIATION SERVICE—Stephen Chapel AME Church will host their pastor and family’s 16th Appreciation Service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1. Rev. Stanley Harris of Concord Worship Center in Giddings will be guest speaker.
