This call to a burning 18-wheeler at 6:49 p.m. Thursday on US 79 at CR 335 was one of several during the past week for the Rockdale VFD. There was also a rekindle of the truck fire at 9:27 p.m. Rockdale volunteers also responded to reports of a grass fire at 4:15 and 9:56 p.m. Sunday on Alcoa property southwest of town and to a grass fire at 5:28 p.m. Monday behind Rockdale Country Ford.
