Rockdale Police made a couple of arrests last week after a dispatcher supervisor spotted a couple of suspected shoplifters at Tractor Supply.

ACCIDENTS–Police investigated a pair of accidents during the reporting period.
According to police, at 9:18 p.m. July 31, a car collided with a tree on Cady.
Driver was listed as Savanna Castilla of Rockdale and vehicle damages were listed as extensive.
Another vehicle-tree collision was reported at 12:37 a.m. Sunday at the Belton-Yoakum intersection
Driver was listed as Kelsey Page. Damage estimates were not available from police.
WARRANTS—Police served numerous local warrants during the past week.
They included one expired registration, failure to maintain financial responsibility, speeding, driving without a license, failure to appear, driving with license invalid and fictitious registration.
OFFENSES—Offenses investigated by police during the past seven days included duty upon striking fixed landscape, credit/debit card abuse, theft of firearm, prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled substance, assault by threat, assault by contact, assault causing bodily injury, forgery by passing, resisting arrest, harassment, theft, public intoxication and driving while license invalid.
CITATIONS—Police issued 31 citations during the week, including 24 for speeding, three for failure to change address/name and one each for failure to control speed, no insurance, unrestrained child and expired driver’s license.
SERVICE CALLS— During the week, officers responded to 172 calls for service and there were 88 calls through the 911 system.
