POLICE REPORT
Two men were charged with endangering a child Monday night after police assisted the Department of Homeland Security in an investigation.
Lt. Stephen Goodrich said police visited the home of Larry Dean Foster, 56, and 42-year-old James Herbert Stevens. Police said Foster is a Rockdale resident and Stevens listed a Temple address.
“We arrested both for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine,” Goodrich said.
“A five-year old child, who is Foster’s, was in the home and the meth was within an arm’s length of him. That’s where the child endangerment charge comes in,” Goodrich said.
Goodrich said potential electronic evidence on the original Department of Homeland Security investigation was seized.
He said as of mid-day Tuesday no charges had been filed in connection with that matter.

In each case the vehicle involved was recovered, he said. One of those ended with the arrest of a juvenile.
Two break-ins were reported during the week, one involving an assault and one the theft of a skill-saw.
ACCIDENT—Police investigated one accident within the city limits, occurring at 6:53 p.m. Thursday at the Burleson-Belton intersection.
Drivers were listed as Trampas Smith of Hutto and Bethany Lehnert of Rock-dale.
CITATIONS—Police issued 34 citations during the past week including 31 for speeding and one each for failure to maintain financial responsibility, failure to report change of address/ name and unrestrained child.
