On Saturday, Feb. 18, several Rockdale High School band members participated in the UIL Region 26/18 Band Solo and Ensemble Contest held at Smithville High School.
Here are the results according to RISD Director of Bands Adrian Acevedo: Clarissa Herrera, Division 1, class 1 flute solo; Annabelle Henderson, Division 1, class 3 flute solo; Alvan Liu, Division 1, class 2 oboe solo; Destinee Bluford, Division 1, class 3 clarinet solo.
Abel Aguirre, Division 1, class 1 bass clarinet solo; Jude Brackin, Division 1, class 2 alto saxophone solo;
Criss Ruelas, Division 1, class 3 alto saxophone solo; Alyssa Thompson, Division 1, class 1 alto saxophone solo.
Morgan Hicks, Division 2, class 3 French horn solo; Jasmine Lawhon, Division 2, class 3 French horn solo; Jaret Johnson, Division 2, class 2 trombone solo; Jayden Davenport, Division 3, class 3 trombone solo and Blake Vance, Division 1, class 3 mallet solo.
“We are very proud of all the students who participated and represented Rockdale at the contest, Acevedo said.
