UNIQUE DAY OF WORSHIP—St. John’s United Methodist Church held their services last Sunday online. “We are responding to the COVID-19 virus by keeping everyone as safe as possible,” said Pastor John Seaton. “We will continue to worship together—just in a different way—by following the advise of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism. Wesley’s first rule of living a Christian life is to first do no harm.”
“This decision was not taken lightly. Information from local, state, and federal governments was considered,” Seaton continued. “Our Bishop also set up a call for clergy yesterday with the Houston Methodist Hospital and their doctors to discuss best practices for handling this Covid-19 pandemic. The overwhelming wisdom is for caution and prevention now to prevent something worse later.”
