Vacation Bible schools offer a variety of activities with a Christian message for students of all ages. These are the programs in the area:

July 1-5 – VBS at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church began Monday and ends Friday. Students in kindergarten through twelfth grades can attend from 9 a.m.-noon at 232 E. 3rd Street, Rockdale.

The theme of VBS is Super Training University based on the scripture, “Put on the whole armor of God, so that we may be able to stand against the devil’s schemes,” Ephesians 6:11.

July 14-16 – Crossroads Bible Church VBS “Faith Expedition” is open to children in pre-kindergarden through fifth grade. For three days from 5:30-8 p.m., children will explore the treasures God gives to believers, receive a light meal and enjoy games crafts, stories and songs at 193 N. FM 487 in Rockdale.

July 17-19 – Rockdale Christian Church will step back in time for its VBS exploring the town where Jesus grew up. “Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus was a kid” VBS will run from 6-8 p.m. at 1406 Sager Road, Rockdale.

Youth ages four to 12 years old will be served a light meal each night in addition to Bible studies, crafts and games.

July 22-25 – “Knightly Virtues” VBS at Murray Street Church will take place in the evening.

Pre-K to sixth grade students are invited to register for camp and junior and high school aged students will be camp instructors/ helpers.

July 29-Aug. 1 – VBS at St. John’s UMC will be hosted by St. John’s United Methodist Church and Peace Lutheran Church.

This year’s theme is “To Mars and Beyond.” Registration information will be available near the end of June.
