A vehicle chase around the Fair Park area last Wednesday afternoon ended with evading and resisting charges filed against a 60-year-old Rockdale man.
Lt. Stephen Goodrich said Ofc. Corey Puente had answered a call to a domestic incident in which a woman reported a man driving by her house and playing loud music.
“While the officer was there a vehicle came by with music on and the volume turned up,” Goodrich said. “Ofc. Puente yelled at him to stop but the driver continued on.”
Goodrich said the driver pulled over after several blocks. “That’s where the resisting arrest incident occurred,” Goodrich said.
Ricky William Boggs was charged with evading arrest/detention with vehicle and resist arrest, search or transport.
At presstime Tuesday he remained in custody on $12,000 bond.
COUNTERFEIT—A 36-year-old Rockdale woman was arrested Saturday in connection with an attempt to pass a $100 bill at a Rockdale business.
Samatra Iwana Beckwith was charged with forgery by passing and also with two forgery warrants from Robertson County.
ARRESTS—Other felony arrests during the past week were listed as follows:
• Brent Alan Barnes, 48, Elgin, assault family/household member with previous conviction, in custody on $10,000 bond.
• Stacey Hall Brewer, 36, Rockdale, possession of controlled substance (less than one gram), in custody on $3,000 bond.
NO ACCIDENTS—Perhaps its the Shelter-In-Place order over the COVID-19 virus, perhaps not, but there were no vehicle accidents reported during the past week within the Rockdale city limits.
CITATIONS—More evidence of fewer drivers on the roads.
Police issued only four traffic citations during the past week, three for speeding and one for failure to maintain financial responsibility.
INCIDENTS—Incidents reported to police during the past seven days including outstanding warrant, duty of sex offender to register annually for life and duty on striking fixture/ highway landscape (less than $200).
SERVICE CALLS—O f fi - cers responded to 150 calls for service during the week just past and there were 86 calls received through the 911 system at the Rockdale Police Department.
