The public is invited to a 10 a.m. Thursday program in the Rock-dale High School gym honoring all area veterans.
Speaker will be 2006 RHS graduate Zakiya James, who served in the Army for eight years from 2006-13, was deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan and received numerous medals and awards.
Bands, elementary students, intermediate students and campus school clubs will perform.
Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy winners will read their essays and there will be a presentation by Veterans of Foriegn Wars Post 6525 and its Auxiliary.
The program will be followed by a luncheon for veterans and their spouses at the Rockdale Junior High Commons, beginning at 12-noon.
BREAKFAST—The next day, Friday, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Auxiliary, will host a free breakfast for veterans and the community.
Serving is from 7 to 10:30 a.m.
