The pandemic has changed lots of things.
One of them being the ability to attend in person college fairs. College fairs are a great way to explore options available to students after high school.
Students have the opportunity to visit many colleges in one location, discover new colleges or solidify their choice and it can be an alternative to visiting colleges individually.
Rockdale knew students would have a disadvantage in not being able to attend a college fair in person this year.
The high school teamed up with iTigers to offer a virtual college fair.
The virtual college fair will have several four-year colleges, two-year colleges, trade schools and the military will be available.
The evening will start off with a presentation from A+ Federal Credit Union discussing the financing options available for college.
Then students and parents will have the option to choose which colleges they want to attend virtually by selecting the breakout rooms.
Each college will give an eight-minute presentation.
The students and parents will have the opportunity to visit at least 5-6 colleges during the time frame.
The virtual college fair will be Feb. 3, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Zoom.
Rockdale High School will have the cafeteria open for those who need a device and or internet access.
Registration is required for the event so contact the high school at 512-430- 6000 to register for this event.
