There are 15,823,406 registered voters in Texas, a new state record, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s office.
The Milam County Clerk’s office wants to ensure eligible residents are registered to vote by the Oct. 7 registration deadline.
Residents should begin by checking their registration status on the Texas Secretary of State’s website on the “Am I Registered?” page.
Eligible Texans who are not already registered to vote may complete and print a voter registration application at www.votetexas.gov or request an application from Milam County Clerk’s Office.
Completed voter registration applications must be postmarked by Oct. 7 in order to be accepted.
Early voting for the constitutional amendments to the Texas Constitution is Oct. 21-Nov. 1 and election day is Nov. 5.
